Why Water Jetting
Compare water jetting to other cutting processes:
- Bandsaws: Abrasive Waterjet shape cutting is faster and more accurate than cutting with a bandsaw. Water jetting can achieve much more detailed designs, including designs with interior or pierced cuts, and can be performed on any material. Less material is wasted.
- Laser cutting: Abrasive Waterjet shape cutting can cut through thicker materials than laser cutting and can be performed on any material. Because it doesn't use heat, there is no edge burn or heat affected zone.
- Wire EDM: Abrasive Waterjet shape cutting is faster and less expensive than wire edm. Unlike wire EDM, water jetting can pierce holes and can be performed on any material
- Plasma/Gas cutting: Abrasive Waterjet shape cutting does not use heat, so there is no edge burning or heat affected zone. Materials cut by water jetting need no cleanup.
- Traditional Machining: Abrasive Waterjet shape cutting does not require expensive tooling, fixturing, or setup and can be performed on any material.
